Our one-year-old Gen 2 Rivian R1S (dual-motor, with around 22–23k miles) lit up like a Christmas tree while Scott was driving back to our 70-acre horse farm after picking up our buddy Andreas. Warning messages were everywhere: “Reduce brake capability,” ABS fault, auto-hold unavailable, turtle mode (power limited), AWD unavailable — but also “all-wheel drive permanently engaged” — plus weird single-wheel regen and torque steer behavior.
