#ENVIVO Resultados SEGUNDA Vuelta - IVÁN CEPEDA habla sobre AVANCE de los ESCRUTINIOS #FocusNoticias

ADVERTISE WITH FOCUS NEWS. INFORMATION VIA WHATSAPP 316 6031950 Presidential candidate Iván Cepeda announced that his campaign will challenge the results of approximately 33,000 polling stations during the vote count of the presidential runoff election. However, the president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Judge Cristian Quiroz, stated that the Colombian electoral system has preclusive stages and that some claims must be filed on election day to be processed. The controversy arose after Cepeda, during his public address following the release of the preliminary results of the presidential runoff, announced that his campaign's poll watchers had challenged approximately 33,000 polling stations and asked that the final count be awaited before officially recognizing the results. The statement opened a new debate about the scope of electoral claims and the procedures established in Colombian law for reviewing election results. Iván Cepeda's Announcement During his speech, the candidate assured that his political organization activated electoral control mechanisms to review thousands of polling stations across the country. "I call on our entire team and electoral apparatus to safeguard every vote and every tally sheet. We have 33,000 polling stations challenged by our electoral observers," Cepeda stated. The candidate added that he will await the final vote count before taking a definitive position on the election outcome. "Once the final count is completed, we will recognize the final result," he affirmed. In recent hours, former presidential candidate Iván Cepeda reiterated that while they recognize the preliminary count as an "unofficial" result, his team of electoral observers and lawyers have filed 57,189 polling station complaints with the electoral commissions operating throughout the country. The senator requested that the votes cast abroad be counted using the physical ballots in Colombia, not through the tally sheets sent by the consulates.
