Anthropic's Fable 5: The Model You Should Switch To Now

Anthropic just released Fable 5, and after putting it to work, I think you should switch to it today. Here's the proof. To pressure-test it, I ran Fable 5 against Opus 4.8 and Sonnet 4.6 on the exact same task: build a full SaaS frontend autonomously, from PRD to running app, with zero user input. Same prompt, same Emily agent workflow, same Mobbin MCP for design inspiration. Bypass-permissions mode, effort high across all three. The SaaS idea roulette landed on a Secret Santa organizer with wishlists and budget matching. Fable 5 finished in 13 minutes while the others took around 20. It used 24% context vs 27% for Opus 4.8 and 60%+ for Sonnet 4.6 (which had to compact mid-run). And it added thoughtful UX details the other models missed, like an option to avoid last year's Secret Santa pairs. Speed, token efficiency, and judgment, all in one model.
