#1 Rae Brothers New Orleans Jazz Band 2005 at Whitley Bay International Jazz Festival
#1 Rae Brothers New Orleans Jazz Band 2005 at Whitley Bay International Jazz Festival – The Rae brothers, Mac and Dave, formed this six-piece band to play New Orleans ensemble style. Mac started out with the legendary Newcastle Vieux Carre Jazzmen back in 1969, and then joined brother Dave (banjo and guitar) in the Mighty Joe Young Band of the 1970’s. There followed a long period when Mac and Dave pursued different musical courses, not least when Mac decided to take up first the trumpet, then the clarinet (he also plays great blues piano!) but the brothers got back together again in 1994 to form this band.
