McMaster University is a public research university in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. It operates six academic faculties: the DeGroote School of Business, Engineering, Health Sciences, Humanities, Social Science, and Science. It is a member of the U15, a group of research-intensive universities in Canada. As of 2022, McMaster University has over 32,000 undergraduate and over 5,000 post-graduate students. The acceptance rate at McMaster for full-time, first-year applications in 2018 was 52.6 per cent. In 2016, Yahoo! Finance named the university's Health Sciences program the toughest Canadian undergraduate program to gain admission to, with an acceptance rate of 4.5 per cent out of an average of 3,500 applicants each year.
