Alpinestars Sektor Riding Shoes: https://goo.gl/Fev49y The Alpinestars Sektor Shoes are low-profile and sport styled. They’re built from a lightweight microfiber upper that feels almost like a really fine grain suede. I know whenever I hear microfiber, I’m thinking of something light, soft, not necessarily a shoe that’s going to keep me safe if I’m taking a tumble. But this material feels really durable. There aren’t a lot of seams on the main body of the chassis, and those that are there are double stitched. This build contributes to a pair of riding shoes that combined, only weigh 1 pound 13 ounces. And when we start looking around the base of the shoe, we can see some really sturdy construction. You get the reinforced heel and toe boxes, external TPR toe reinforcement and textured shift pads. Plus the sole is rigid, the integrated support shank doing a superb job keeping any twisting and turning to a minimum. You can feel how grippy the rubber sole will be too. These are a size 10, I’m usually a 10.5, but I could definitely make due with these. My toes are just about to the end of the footbed, so I would go up one size if I were purchasing, but it hardly feels like you have anything on your foot. The rigid sole is noticeable, as there’s not much flex, but the EVA footbed inside is well padded and the flex area on the heels allows me pretty much unrestrained movement at the ankles. All that and the low-key styling are going to make these pretty convenient off the bike if you’re not looking to swap into some casual shoes. Some other touches include metallic mesh vents and of course the Velcro ankle strap to keep the collar tight and the laces in check. These bad boys are CE certified as well.
