According to historians, we cannot reduce the Bible to a book of mythology. However, this does not mean that all its texts and characters are true (much less the miracles recorded in its pages). Did Moses write the Pentateuch? Did Jesus really exist? After all, how do historians manage to differentiate facts from myths? I will discuss this with historian Juliana Cavalcanti, who holds a PhD in Comparative History, coordinates the Laboratory of History of Religious Experiences, is editor-in-chief of the Revista Jesus Histórico, a specialist in Early Christianity (with an emphasis on Archaeology and gender studies), and is currently undertaking her post-doctoral studies at the National Museum.
