Key Fob Not Detected Fix for 2019 Ram (5th gen)

Hi everyone, I have figured out what was causing my key fob to not properly work for my 2019 ram 1500. After researching online, I found other people having the same issue with their key fob. Before figuring out what was causing the issue, I replaced the battery and that did not work. Next, I took a trip to the dealership and they attempted to diagnose the issue and they decided to order a brand new key fob for me. 1 day later, I was have the same error code on the dash, “KEY FOB NOT DETECTED” when I pressed the start button. The issue was actually the 3rd brake light bulb that I had replaced with a LED bulb. I replaced my cargo lights and since the kit I ordered also came with replacement LED bulbs for the 3rd brake light, I decided to replace that as well. Apparently, some LEDs emit different amounts of electro-magnetic interference in which the bulb I happened to use was interfering with the remote receiver. Once I replaced the new LED bulb with the old factory halogen bulb, the issue went away and I no longer see the “KEY FOB NOT DETECTED” error code on the dash. If you really want to have a LED bulb for your 3rd brake light, a brand that has worked for other people without interfering with the remote receiver is Diode Dynamics.
