For three separate days, we filmed alongside the guys from Suzuki Marine and Reliable Marine, showing the real process behind the peak repowering season in South Florida. On the first day, we hauled a trailer full of old two-stroke engines belonging to the famous 4x2 program. Many people don't understand how this program works, and it honestly helps boat owners who want to upgrade without spending exorbitant amounts of money. The idea is simple: you trade in an old two-stroke engine and receive a credit toward the purchase of a new four-stroke. The interesting thing is that the credit doesn't actually depend on the condition of the old engine you bring in; the value is based on the new engine you're going to buy. The only important condition is that the engine traded in is a two-stroke. In this video, you'll see wrecked engines, blown-up engines, engines that still work but are looking for something new, and others that were simply no longer worth repairing. All of this ends up at a metal recycling center where literally tons of aluminum and steel are processed. And honestly… it's quite impressive to see the number of engines that come out of a workshop like Reliable Marine every week. Currently, in the middle of summer season, they're launching approximately 8 engines a week while installing more than 20 new ones each week. The number of repowers they're doing right now is insane. Afterward, we went to Black Point Park & ​​Marina to do several Sea Trials with different boats that had just been repowered with the new Suzuki 2026 engines. This is where the video completely changes atmosphere… We went from seeing engines destined for recycling… to testing brand-new machines on the water. We tested everything from lightweight flatboats with Suzuki 200HP engines to true offshore monsters like several Intrepids with triple Suzuki 300 engines, adding up to almost 900 horsepower behind the boat. Each boat feels different. Each configuration completely changes the handling. And one of the most important parts of any repower is precisely this moment: the Sea Trial. This is where we check: ⚓ RPM ⚓ Speed ⚓ Water Pressure ⚓ Temperatures ⚓ Vibrations ⚓ Engine Height ⚓ Overall Hull Performance Many of these customers wait months for this moment, and honestly, it feels amazing to see an old boat completely revived with new engines. Plus, I love this kind of content because it shows the REAL side of the marine industry: the work in the shop, the problems, the testing, the wrecked engines, the new engines, the races against time in the summer, and everything else that people usually never get to see.
