Living with Level 3 Autism
Autistic adult enjoys seeing his nephew and nieces over summer. Younger siblings trying hard to help, but also get exhausted. Lack of services and supports for severely autistic adults is a growing epidemic that must change. Many families would keep their autistic teens and adult children at home, given the right supports. No family should be forced to the brink of exhaustion over the constant care it takes to medically and behaviorally protect a severely autistic person who needs 24 hour 1:1 and sometimes 2:1 care. It is possible to have your autistic adult child at home, with the right support system. Family doing everything they can to help autistic adult remain safe in the home. Family trying to protect him and give him the best life possible. Never give up advocating for your family member who needs help.
