Gangsta's Paradise – Coolio – Instrumental Guitar Cover

This is my cover of the of the song ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’, released in 1995 by American rapper Coolio. One of my earliest memories of listening to music was hearing this song on the popular U.K. TV show ‘top of the pops’ way back in 1995. I didn’t realise until years later that the song is in fact an interpolation of the Stevie Wonder song ‘Pastime Paradise’ from the 1976 album ‘Songs in the Key of Life.’ Click here to watch a detailed tutorial on how this cover was recorded from scratch – This method can be used to cover any popular song👉    • Create a Cover Song From Scratch - The Com...   It was also the first ever rap single to go straight to number one in Britain, and a good example of the significant influence American music and subculture had here during the 90’s and beyond. This cover follows the same structure and key as the original song but is played at a slightly faster tempo. I did this only because I thought it worked better as an instrumental when played slightly quicker. As with all my songs, this cover was recorded from the ground up with every part of the song recorded individually. I had a couple of viewers asking about what my process was for creating cover songs, so please click the link above for an in-depth tutorial on the subject! ☝️
