Thomson Houston 1880's Dynamo Generator
A Thomson Incandescent Dynamo generator rated at 30 kilo Watts, and 110 volts runs again to celebrate 125 years of electric lights in Edmonton. Some of the unique features of this 1880’s Thomson Houston are its Spherical (or Ball) armature, the round iron bars connecting the field poles, and the brass wire mesh brushes. An electric speed control is used to run the Dynamo as a motor with 12 volts DC and 35 amps. www.ephf.ca
