Twitter @juangangel In Brazil, one of the largest countries in the world, the demand for products has led to tremendous growth in agriculture and livestock farming to meet the needs of its inhabitants and the countries to which it exports a large portion of its products. One of these products is milk, for which they had to begin to become more technical in order to increase production and its derivatives. To talk a little about this, we travel to one of the largest milk-producing areas in all of Brazil. The total number of milked cows reached 19.7 million in 2016, equivalent to 9% of the total cattle population in the country. The value represents a 6.8% drop compared to the previous year. The Southeast region contributed the largest share, 34.7%, followed by the South, with 21.3%. AVERAGE MILK PRODUCTION PRODUCTIVITY The average milk production productivity in Brazil was 1,709 liters/cow/year in 2016, representing a 4.2% increase compared to 2015 (1,639 liters/cow/year).
