VANQUiSH H10 OPTiC RTR vs RC TOPIA'S NEW ROCK PILE! Stock Challenge + Timed Run | RC ADVENTURES

The rock pile at RC TOPIA has officially evolved. Over the last little while, I've been rebuilding and expanding this feature to create something that offers more technical lines, more opportunities for wheel placement, and a lot more creativity when choosing a route. Bigger boulders, more filler rock, tighter transitions, off-camber sections, and multiple line choices now make this one of the most versatile crawling features on the property. Today is the very first time I put a truck through the new layout. And for this test, I chose something special. The Vanquish H10 Optic RTR. No modifications. No upgrades. No tuning changes. No added weight. Just a completely stock H10 Optic, exactly as it comes out of the box. I've been excited to spend more time behind the wheel of this truck, and after today's run, I can confidently say I understand why so many people have been talking about it. Along the way, I dive into one of the most common questions surrounding this platform: What class does the H10 Optic actually belong in? Is it a trail truck? A crawler? A hybrid? Something entirely different? To help answer that question, I compare it against several vehicles that many enthusiasts already know: • Axial SCX10 III • Traxxas TRX4 High Trail • UGRC Outlaw Extreme (dedicated rock crawler) Each of these machines approaches the terrain differently, and it creates an interesting discussion about where the H10 fits into the hobby. I also explore another topic that always sparks debate: Heavy trucks or lightweight rigs? The H10 Optic tips the scales at approximately 5.6 lbs with battery installed, which puts it in an interesting position between dedicated competition-style lightweight crawlers and heavier trail-focused trucks. Do you prefer: • Lightweight rigs that float over obstacles? • Heavy trucks that feel planted and realistic? • Somewhere in between? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments. To put the truck to the test, I run a full 11-gate timed course through the newly rebuilt rock pile. Every gate counts, and every line matters. Then, just for fun... I turn around and run the entire course backwards. Starting at the final gate and working all the way back to the original starting point creates a completely different challenge and proves just how versatile these obstacles can be. The more time I spend with the H10, the more impressed I become. It feels capable, predictable, fun to drive, and surprisingly comfortable on terrain that challenges much more specialized rigs. I'm genuinely glad I picked this truck up and even happier that I get to share the experience with all of you. Now I want to hear from the community: What is the ultimate trail truck? Is it the SCX10 III? The TRX4? The H10 Optic? A custom build? Something else entirely? Drop your thoughts below and let's talk RC.
