Following the Data: From Repository to Graph – How Open Infrastructures Interconnect Published Data

Format: Demo & walkthrough of data propagation Speaker: Giulia Malaguarnera, Outreach & Engagement Officer, OpenAIRE FAIR RDM Bootcamp | Day 3 Time: 15:00–16:00 CEST Session description This session explores what happens after data is published, following research outputs as they move from repositories into interconnected open infrastructures. Giulia Malaguarnera demonstrates how curated metadata, persistent identifiers (PIDs), and standards-based harvesting enable data to travel from local repositories into the OpenAIRE Graph, where it becomes discoverable, linked, and measurable. Through a live walkthrough, participants see how metadata is validated, enriched, deduplicated, and connected to publications, software, projects, organisations, and funders. The session highlights the post-submission role of data stewards in improving metadata quality and explains how these actions directly shape discovery, reuse, monitoring, and evidence-based policy.
