Bochum, Germany. 3x Escalator ride at Herne Bahnhof Stadtbahn Station

We take a POV ride on 2x O&K escalators and 1x ThyssenKrupp escalator (1x other TKE escalator is broken) at the Herne Bahnhof stadtbahn station in the Herne area of Bochum, Germany. 🇩🇪 This is a station further out from the city centre in this small town district. The O&Ks are from 1988 and the RT-HD type whereas the ThyssenKrupp escalators are the Tugela type from around 2019. They would, I expect have been replacements but it is unusual that the shorter escalators were replaced first as usually it’s the longer ones or ones above ground that are. The ThyssenKrupp is automatic and the 2-way functionality is active meaning it will run both up and down changing direction depending on traffic. As you can see, replacing escalators is a total waste of time and money in most cases - again it’s a newer escalator here that has failed but then its rare to see anyone build escalators to the same high standard Orenstein and Koppel did Enjoy!
