I was very curious to see how it compared side to side with the Pitchfork. The Pitchfork has expression control and more modes so the higher price makes sense but I use pitch pedals in an ambient setting with reverb and I like making my bass sound like horns, wind or other instruments. I use a Boss OC-2 for my main octave pedal and I personally think that it can't be replaced but both the Pitchfork and Harmonic Square have cool down octave sounds that track really well. Results: For the way I use these pedals it was actually pretty close. Bottom line, I can use the Harmonic Square more. The Pitchfork dual mode is pretty sick and the pedal itself is better with the expression output and the silent foot switch. It can get my bass to sound like other instruments too but I can use more of the modes on the HS. I can use all the middle modes on the HS and there's a couple on the Pitchfork that are unusable. The down octaves on the HS are smoother and up octaves sound more beautiful to me like a soothing whistle. I can sound like a horn or a sax on both pedals but I like the Harmonic Square a little bit more.
