Древний океан Тетис

Once upon a time, the waves of an ancient ocean known as the Tethys roared across the Pavlodar Irtysh region of Kazakhstan and far beyond. Traces of marine animals—fossilized brachiopods, corals, bryozoans, or colonial protostomes up to 400 million years old—and the remains of sharks and other marine life—are now found in the feather-grass steppes of Kazakhstan.
