When it comes to Doctor Who, I'm of the mind that it's premature to fully judge a specific regeneration, companion, or even showrunner until they've completed their tenure. Doesn't mean you can't have an opinion, just means the jury is still out on a final verdict for me. So since we're still in the midst of whatever the Chibnall and/or Whittaker era ends up looking like, if you want to compare eras of modern Doctor Who then you have to go back.
