Jennette McCurdy's sixth track from her self-titled EP, under Capitol Records Nashville. Information: "Better" was released on February 8, 2012. The song is about a loss of a separation and how Jennette tries to overcome her feelings to that person and feel better. A minute preview of the song was released earlier as part of a poll Jennette asked her fans. The fans were supposed to vote to which song they think should be the first single from her album. "Better" was fourth place out of the six songs. However, Jennette performed the song entirely and acoustically at a radio station called "KLME Country108". A high-quality video of that performance was uploaded to YouTube back in 2010. The performance (and song) got a lot of people's attention. Some of her fans actually prefer this acoustic version over the official studio version. The song was performed by Jennette on her "Generation Love" tour along with some other songs. She said that her favorite songs to perform are "Generation Love" and "Better". Personal Review: After hearing the minute preview of the song on the fan-voted poll, I didn't like it that much. I sort of liked it, but it didn't really strike me. After I heard the acoustic version of the song, I fell in love with it! I was eagerly waiting for the song to finally come out after a year and a half of listening to the acoustic version and the preview of the studio version. I was not disappointed! The song is absolutely enchanting! It's very different from her other songs. It is so well written and it's so easy to relate to the lyrics. With lyrics that deep and honest, it can be on Adele's next album. I'm very happy Jennette co-wrote it! The music is beautiful, especially with the mandolin and accordion. The bridge is beyond amazing in music, lyrics and vocals. Jennette really sings this song amazingly! She reaches the high notes and sings the low notes with a lot of emotion and sadness - even when she says that little "better" at the end of the choruses. I can continue talking about this song for hours but I won't. I was sure I would have preferred the acoustic version before I heard this, but in my opinion this version is better.
