What was Kyiv like almost a hundred years ago? Can you recognize the modern city from old newsreels from the 1920s? And what buildings from that time have not survived to this day? In this video, we watch archival newsreels of Kyiv from the period from 1927 to 1930. Kyiv, before it became the capital of the Ukrainian SSR, was still little different from the pre-revolutionary city. We will see the Contract Fair, the Eugenia Bosch Bridge on the supports of the Chain Bridge, the old Khreshchatyk, and the settlement on Trukhaniv Island, flooded by the flood of the Dnieper.
