On the night of June 18, 2026, a massive storm hit Wuhan. A tiny kitten was trapped deep inside a narrow drainage pipe, and the heavy rain was flooding the tunnel rapidly. He only had hours—or perhaps minutes—before being completely engulfed. This was a race against time. The fire department and I worked together to find a way to reach him. The pipe was tight, dark, and dangerous. After multiple failed attempts and the water rising up to the kitten's chin, I thought I had lost him.
