"You are the creator of your own destiny" - Swami Satyamayananda at IIT Kanpur

Speaker: Swami Satyamayananda Day: FRIDAY, SEP 4th, 2015 Time: 6:15 PM Venue: L-8, Lecture Hall Complex About the Speaker: Swami Satyamayananda recently joined as Secretary of Ramakrisha Mission Ashrama, Kanpur. Prior to that, he served as an Acharya at the monastic probationary centre at Belur Math for several years. Following this, he served as the Editor of the scholarly monthly English magazine, Prabuddha Bharata that was initiated by Swami Vivekananda over 100 years ago. Subjects of his interest include Indian scriptures, philosophy, and teaching. The Abstract: *Most people live and finally end life without fulfilling their destiny. Besides, other people have the habit of trying to make gods, or astrologers, or palmists, or soothsayers, or other practitioners of dark arts, intervene as they strive to carve out a destiny for themselves in this staggering crowd of others trying to do that very thing. This is where Swami Vivekananda's words: 'You are the creator of your own destiny' becomes very relevant to us in this age of rudderless and clueless living.*
