Operation Blue Intruder

𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗴𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗶𝗹 𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗼𝘄 𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗲𝘁 ⛔ Even at sea, the law applies. Belgian military personnel made that abundantly clear last night by carrying out an inspection on a sanctioned oil tanker. 🛡️ The patrol vessel Pollux intercepted an oil tanker in the North Sea that had been under long-term monitoring by the Maritime Information Crosspoint. 🛢️ The tanker is part of the so‑called “shadow fleet” a group of ageing oil tankers used to bypass sanctions on crude oil and refined oil products. 🚢 🚁 Operators from the Special Operations Forces boarded the vessel, supported by helicopters, a patrol vessel, and fast rigid-hull inflatable boats. 🇫🇷 🤝 🇧🇪 Belgium did not act alone: the French Navy supported the operation with helicopters and a ship. A strong example of European cooperation. 🕵️ After the successful boarding, the vessel was safely escorted to Zeebrugge for further investigation. 🔗 More info at www.mil.be.
