The discovery of a hidden compartment in the former family home of Óscar S. M., the only person accused of the murder of Esther López in Traspinedo (Valladolid), has led to a significant turn in a case that was already headed to trial. The space was discovered by chance by the new owner of the house during renovations, when he lifted some tiles under a room and found a trapdoor leading to a basement that was not shown on the plans. The court has already authorized a search warrant, and the Valladolid Provincial Court has ordered the case to return to the preliminary investigation phase, effectively halting its progress toward a jury trial.
