There are 12 vowels in Pitman Shorthand. Out of this, 6 are long vowel sounds and remaining 6 are short vowel sounds. The long vowel are represented by a heavy dot and a heavy dash. The short vowels are represented by a light dot and a light dash. Pitman Shorthand language increases the speed, fluency in writing.
