HISTORIC HELICOPTERS SANTA SEA KING XZ588 + HANGAR TOUR & bonus flight from Westland LYNX XZ616! 🎅🏻

A lovely morning spent at Chard Equestrian to see off the Historic Helicopters Santa Flights as they headed off today. The beautifully preserved RAF SAR Westland Sea King HAR3 XZ588 was first to take off on the main Santa flight, visiting schools, hospices, hospitals and brightening communities across the South West to deliver presents and spread Christmas cheer over North Devon and Somerset. This was operated as an official article 86 flying display with the team adhering to all necessary safety precautions and getting airborne ahead of this weekends impending bad weather. We then had a bonus treat with Lynx XZ616 departing for a couple of local sorties to Taunton and the surrounding areas. We were greeted by friendly and welcoming staff and volunteers at the site, with teas and coffes on offer in the cafe and the opportunity to have a look inside the hangars at the amazing airframes and exciting restorations the team are currently working on, including x2 Belgian Sea Kings and a Westland Widgeon!
