The town has undergone various phases - starting from the arrival of the Minangkabau people to Malaya, the colonisation by the British, the Japanese Occupation, and up to development in this era of modernization. In between those phases, the city's growth exploded into life when tin ore was discovered here in the 1870s. The discovery of tin in a nearby area called Rasah saw an influx of Arab, Malay and Chinese immigrants to work on the mines and trade there. Fast forward to 2020, the once small town of Seremban was officially declared a city.
