In the first episode of our new series "1 Day of Eating Only from the Forest," Norman embarks on this very experiment. January is considered one of the toughest months for foraging for food in nature. We approached the challenge with pessimism, expecting bare trees, cold temperatures, and a barren forest floor. But reality completely surprised us. Contrary to all expectations, Norman didn't go hungry; instead, we discovered an incredible variety of edible winter mushrooms, fresh wild herbs, and even some wild fruits. The rules for this challenge were strict: absolutely nothing from the supermarket could be consumed for 24 hours. Even ingredients from civilization, such as oil, salt, or spices, were forbidden. Only water and heat were permitted to prepare the gathered ingredients on site. In this video, we accompany Norman on his search and show in detail which plants and mushrooms can be found even in the depths of winter. Afterward, you'll see the complete preparation of the finds outdoors. The result is a meal made entirely from nature, whose pure, unadulterated taste Norman samples. This is the start of a major year-long project. We will repeat this experiment every month from now on to document how the food supply in the forest changes throughout the year.
