How to Install a MAAX Cyrene Corner Shower Kit – Install Drain & Glass Door Gaskets

In this video, I installed the remaining parts of the brass drain assembly including the rubber gasket, the brass locknut and the snap-on strainer grate. Our plumber, Keaton, had previously installed the brass drain body. Next, I will install the glass shower door vinyl edge gaskets and finally, the vinyl gaskets on the left and right uprights, which turned out not to be a simple task. Again, both the written and video instructions were practically useless. So, I came up with my own technique by trial and error. If I were to do this again, I would insert the gaskets into the ends of the open channels on the uprights and simply pull it through BEFORE mounting them to the wall jambs necessitating they be installed by heavy pressing and pounding to force the tough plastic gasket into the upright slots. The next and final step for installing a MAAX corner shower kit is sealing all the seams inside of the shower, on the frame assembly mounted to the shower wall inside and outside of the shower, and between the shower pan and flooring. What a project this has been! Background: After weeks of research, Diane and I could not find a contractor willing to assemble and install this MAAX corner shower kit in our new garage bathroom.
