Infrared conversion in Nikon D300 with a self cut Hoya R72 filter
In this film I will show how I make my Infrared conversion, in my old Nikon D300. NOTE: Both the hot mirror/dust off filter and the low-pass filter has to be completely removed when conversing to IR use. (but keep the part's in a safe place if you want the camera back into normal use). I use a old used Hoya R72 Infrared filter (720nm), that I cut with a glass cutter so it fit perfect just above the sensor, but sitting on the rubber frame so the filter will NOT touch sensor and that's why the filter has be bigger than the actual sensor area. Then I make some small adjustment to the plastic frame, so the filter will go trough the frame, then I add a few drop's of contact glue on the edge of the filter and frame so the filter will stay in place. The filter has this measurement: 29,80mm long and 22,65mm high.

Does a Hoya R72 filter compete with a converted infrared camera?
