Visconti & Woodmansey HOLY HOLY : All the Young Dudes medley : Shepherd's Bush Empire 30.6.15
Tony Visconti & Woody Woodmansey’s Holy Holy play The Wild Eyed Boy from Freecloud and All the Young Dudes live at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 30 June 2015. This medley (The Wild Eyed Boy from Freecloud/All the Young Dudes/Oh You Pretty Things) was originally played by David Bowie and the Spiders from Mars on their 1973 'Aladdin Sane' tour and can be seen in the 'Ziggy Stardust: The Motion Picture' movie. Sadly this clip only includes the first few moments of Oh You Pretty Things as my camera battery failed... 0:00 The Wild Eyed Boy from Freecloud (vocals - Marc Almond, saxophone - Terry Edwards) 3:11 All the Young Dudes (vocals - Glenn Gregory & Marc Almond) 4:50 Oh You Pretty Things (vocals - Marc Almond & Glenn Gregory) The full show featured a complete song-by-song play through of David Bowie’s seminal 1970 album, ‘The Man Who Sold the World’ performed by original bass player and producer Tony Visconti , legendary ‘Spiders from Mars’ drummer Woody Woodmansey and their awesome band Holy Holy, with vocals from Heaven 17 front man Glenn Gregory. Guest vocals were also provided by Marc Almond and Lisa Ronson, daughter of the late, great ‘Spiders from Mars’ guitar wizard Mick. Guitar duties were shared between James Stevenson and Paul Cuddeford. After the ‘Man Who Sold the World’ showcase concluded with a blistering rendition of ‘The Supermen’ the band played a second set of David Bowie greatest hits and live favourites from the period 1969-1973, including the medley featured here. This was Holy Holy’s second appearance at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire performing ‘The Man Who Sold the World’. The original show, in September 2014, was recorded and is available here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Man-Sold-Worl...
