Drawing on their respective strengths in vocals and performance, lyrics and songwriting, production and recording, and creative development, they shaped the songs, sound, recordings, visual identity, and wider creative world that became known internationally as Caro Emerald. Blending jazz, latin, swing and vintage-inspired influences with contemporary production, the project achieved international success: its debut album "Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor" set an all-time record on the Dutch albums chart, surpassing the previous record held by Michael Jackson's "Thriller", and earned multi-platinum sales and chart hits across Europe. ——— THIS VERSION "Tangled Up (Lokee Remix)" is a remix by Lokee AKA Leonhard van Voorst. On creating the song 'Tangled Up' David said he ,"took a lick here, a lick there, pushed notes around and made sure that there was repetition as well as variation." In terms of backing-vocal layers on the song, Jan's recollection is that "Tangled Up' has got the most, with about eight, but most songs only feature one or two extra layers per harmony part."
