Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron - Heart for Both (orig. song Homeland FOR FIRST TIME with LYRICS!)

This video was created by Dockeeping -- this is his LEGACY. DISCLAIMER: This music video is purely non-profit fan-made work. No copyright infringement is intended. All rights belong to their respective owners (UMG, A&M Records, DreamWorks). ------------------------------------------------------------- TL;DR: Today I present to you (those of you who haven't forgotten the old Dockeeping and those who somehow managed to stumble upon this) my latest music video - it's called "Heart for Both". The video and the music (it's called "Homeland" on the soundtrack) are from the movie Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. What's interesting about it (I hope) is that the LYRICS you'll see never existed for this song! They're ORIGINAL, I wrote them myself, and I edited the movie for the video so that together they tell the story of Spirit's declaration of love for his beloved Rain. Nothing more needs to be said, I think that even for those who don't know the movie (I recommend correcting that – it's really nice and deep), the story of their love will be clear… I hope you like my video and song and that you will sing along (at least in your mind) and feel Spirit's feelings too… And for those who have read this far (thank you), below are a few of my unimportant notes on the creation of this (even for me) surprising work… :-) ------------------------------------------------------------- So, here I am again! But this time I took my time because it's been more than 5 years since I posted my last video, for which I apologize to everyone :-( But my priorities have changed since then and so I haven't found the right moment to make videos. But sometimes I missed it, but the right moment never came. Until a few days ago, the last day of 2024, when I just wanted to watch my favorite (still - even at my age :-) ) Spirit out of nostalgia. But I didn't watch it. In fact, I finished right after the opening scene! Why? Because after such a long time the tones of the amazing music by Hans Zimmer woke up my dormant inspiration. And I suddenly felt the need to write lyrics for the opening song "Homeland", which this instrumental composition never had. At least as far as I know. I know the entire movie soundtrack and although the main theme is very similar to the song “I Will Always Return (Finale)”, it is actually completely different – I realized that as soon as I started writing. :-) And although I no longer thought I could still do it, I think that what I created (the entire text, with a few minor edits, was written in that one day - the video a few days later) is not that bad. And I hope that at least someone who happens to stumble upon it will like it and maybe sing a few words out loud… (Oh, how I would love to hear one of my lyrics that I wrote in the past to really sing someone… :-( I am unfortunately not capable of that myself…) But enough about me. Here it is – Spirit’s confession of his endless love for Rain. A love so deep and unbreakable that it can overcome everything that fate throws at them. It is his “Heart for Both”! Lyrics (by Dockeeping): Heart for Both I see in the blue sky the sun rolling high And from the wind’s calling I learn how to fly Racing bold with the eagle Running free across plains To you where my wild heart remains There are endless things to explore and to do But nothing’s more precious than being with you When I feel here your presence And look into your eyes Then I know you’re heaven’s best prize Sometimes this life is hard And all our hopes seem to be gone But even in deepest darkness It’s your light that keeps me on Wherever I will go Whatever wonders I may see My only wish now for ever Just with you to always be Because I never ever felt so much Inside I never longed more to live For me it’s only you the reason why It’s my whole life for you to give So many trials I’ve gone through To prove my worth and stand for truth But before I finally met you Didn’t know that life’s for two No matter how far from you my journey leads I'll always be sure what my soul really needs And I keep on my promise I will not break my oath Here's the place in my heart, my heart for both Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron © DreamWorks Music: Homeland ℗ An A&M Records Release; ℗ 2002 UMG Recordings, Inc. © UMG
