Is it actually smooth sailing to Catalina Island? Ep.4
Welcome aboard our 32-foot Westsail as we set sail south from California to Mexico. In this episode we leave Santa Cruz Island to go explore Catalina Island, but nearly get stuck at sea when something goes bump in the night. Find us on Instagram: / sailinglutra ==== Our story begins with a Westsail 32 we bought in 2021, not that long after we met and in the midst of a pandemic. We spent several years working hard, and devoting much of the little free time we had preparing the boat for an indefinite adventure. Finally, in 20225, we sold everything we owned, moved aboard, and set out south in search of warmer weather, and hopefully, the adventure of a lifetime. Bryan previously did something like this in 2017, buying a 27-foot sailboat named "Tarka" in the caribbean, sight-unseen, and sailing the boat through the islands and the Panama Canal. This time, there's a little more space, and a much bigger ocean (hopefully) to explore.
