What at first seems like senile dementia soon reveals itself to be something far darker: possession. An ancient entity, known as "the woman of the well," takes control of his voice and body to exact a debt of hatred. Through a cleansing ritual performed by Don Isidro, the origin of the evil is discovered: a woman unjustly murdered and thrown into the well centuries ago with stones tied to her feet. Although they manage to temporarily free the grandfather, the warning is clear: hatred has a long memory, and the well will never cease to demand what is owed, even breaking concrete slabs to remind everyone that it is still there, waiting for the moment to exact its revenge.
