Ka'iulani DeSilva Ward Art Park Tapa Printing Verna Takashima
Ka'iulani DeSilva and Verna Takashima are practitioners of 'ohe kapala or kapa cloth printing. They pass on this skill in the manner of oral tradition. The Art Park at Ward Warehouse was held this weekend June 24th, 2011 to help raise money for art in the Hawaiian immersion schools. Many Hawaiian artists were on hand to show their support for this great cause. Here is one that I spoke to at the event. Please search 'Art Park Ward' to see the six other artists that I visited.
