Quentin & Alice (Books + Show) | The Night We Met

I recently made two Harry Potter videos that included audiobook snippets. The idea was to give the movies that special spark that, for me, had been lost in adaptation. I had a lot of fun with the concept & you guys seemed to like it, too. This is the exact same format but for another book series that I feel passionate about: The Magicians, by Lev Grossman. Book-to-screen adaptations are a tricky thing and, for me, Syfy's show doesn't quite hit the spot, you know. There are some good things about it, of course, but it doesn't feel the same. A telling sign of that is the general lack of overlap between fans of the show and fans of the trilogy. Anyway. The books speak to my soul. And I'm hoping someday maybe there can be a more faithful adaptation for people who feel like me. When it comes to Quentin/Alice, it's not so much that I *ship them, the way I would Ron/Hermione, Merlin/Arthur... It's more like I find their story really moving. There's something deeply flawed and realistic about the characters and their relationship. Almost tragic, yet optimistic. I don't know how else to explain it. Fun fact: I've only ever watched one episode of the show. This was made by directly importing the episodes into Vegas & quickly looking for the scenes that fit best for the video, kinda like flipping through a book. * Footage: The Magicians (SyFy) The Magicians Trilogy (by Lev Grossman) Audiobooks read by Mark Bramhall Alice's Story Graphic Novel (by Lev Grossman, Dave Justus, Pius Bak) Song: The Night We Met - Lord Huron    • Lord Huron - The Night We Met (Official Ly...   Coloring by Vivs:   / lieutenantdarling   Font: Times New Roman
