Lawyer Claudio Salvagni, Massimo Bossetti's longtime defense attorney, gave us a long interview, speaking to crime novelist Rino Casazza. In particular, the lawyer focused on Unknown Man 1's DNA, which was apparently left in sufficient quantity for analysis at the San Raffaele. The lawyer said: "(...) since the defense is quite stubborn and obstinate, and has never wanted to give up, remembering that during the first-degree trial, Professor Casari, in response to a specific question from us, had said that he had DNA samples in his laboratories at the San Raffaele that were good, usable for further investigations (...) those of 'Unknown Man 1' (...) in light of this testimony, given during the trial by the professor who is, I remind you, a consultant for the prosecution (...), we then said, 'We ask to be able to examine these DNA samples,' and incredibly, for the first time, we were authorized to perform these tests. This happened in November 2019. After that, a whole dance of, how should I put it?, inadmissibility began, a whole situation whereby (...) they played a bit of a game of buck-passing to prevent us from taking that exam.
