Two Tons O'Fun ~ I've Got The Feeling 1980 Disco Purrfection Version

These ladies, Martha Wash and Izora Armstead became icons in their own right after they sang back up for another icon, Sylvester (You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)). Their gospelish and soulful delivery got them their own Patrick Cowley production in "I've Got The Feeling" from their debut LP "Two Tons O'Fun" in 1980. It did not make the disco dance charts at all. I so remember the first time I heard this, the bassline was booming and wasnt that Sylvester singing down and dirty? I knew it was Patrick Cowley though. Those synthesizers were mesmerizing and disorienting at the same time.....They continued on as The Weather Girls until 1988. After that Martha had a successful career on her own and Izora resurrected the Weather Girls in the early 90's and added her daughter, Dynell Rhodes to join her. Izora passed away soon after and Dynell's sister, Ingrid Arthur became a Weather Girl, which still tours and records today.
