Kool Frikkadel (oumense onder die komberse ) ‪@capemalaycooking‬ From My Kitchen To Yours - keeping our heritage alive for the past 11 years! Kool frikkadel / cabbage frikkadel / cabbage parcels is a dish consisting of cooked cabbage leaves wrapped around a variety of fillings. Frikkadel is typically used as a filling in Cape Malay cuisine. For extra flavour mutton or lamb pieces are braised with an onion and shredded cabbage for a delicious gravy. My recipe is perfect for warming you up on warm cold winter nights. Comfort food at its best, just like your granny made it! Cabbage parcels or kool frikkadel like we in Cape Town know it, is common to the cuisines of Central, Northern, Eastern and Southeastern Europe and much of Western Asia, Northern China, as well as parts of North Africa.
