A Turkish flag was then hung in the school room of Fırat University Research Assistant Hifzullah Kutum, who was first dismissed and then arrested for posting "Long Live Kurdistan" on his social media account, and lynching campaigns were launched against him. The nationalist and Islamist base quickly launched a series of insults and threats against Kurds based on the question, "Where is Kurdistan?" From the Independence Tribunals to the "Local and National" courts, Kurds have been forced to defend Kurdistan for 100 years. Forced to explain Kurdistan to every member of society, from politicians to the public, Kurds are once again faced with the question, "Where is Kurdistan?"
