The first few years of the decade (featured in this episode) saw mostly a continuation of the Rock and Soul that took over the charts in the latter half of the 1950s. This was just before a huge number of other styles would burst onto the scene including Motown, The British Invasion, Garage Rock & Surf Rock...to name only a few.
