🔧⚙️ Suzuki Samurai Project – Chapter 26 In the previous chapter, we finished rebuilding the transfer case... or so we thought. After fully reassembling it, we encountered an unexpected problem: 👉 The transfer case wouldn't turn. Everything seemed to be assembled correctly, but something was blocking the assembly. So, we had to disassemble it again and start the diagnostic process over. 🔧 In this episode: We analyzed the gear behavior. We detected that the side gears did have some movement. We identified the center gear as the possible source of the problem. We reopened the transfer case. We performed multiple assembly and disassembly tests. We located the exact point where the locking occurred. And yes... we had to open something again that was already finished 😅 ⚠️ The source of the problem After many checks, we discovered that: 👉One of the center shaft gears was rubbing against the housing. When the transfer case was fully closed, the gear was locked, and the assembly jammed. A difficult fault to locate because everything seemed fine at first glance. 🔨 The Solution Once the interference point was located: We marked the problematic area. We repaired the housing. We reassembled the unit. We checked the operation again. And finally... ✅ The transfer case rotates correctly. ✅ The gears shift smoothly. ✅ Everything seems to be working as it should. ⏳ Problem solved? On the dyno, yes. But the ultimate test remains: 👉 Reinstalling it on the Samurai and verifying that everything works correctly under load.
