Madhur temple & it's natural beauty | ಮಧೂರು ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ | History of Madhur Temple | Madhur Ganapathi Ganesh chaturthi is one of the special Hindu festivals, but it is celebrated together, irrespective of religions in many places. On this special day, we oblate a varieties of dishes to Lord Ganesha and seek his blessings. We also visit Ganesha temples to get blessings from the Lord. Madhoor madanantheshwara siddhivinayaka temple is one among 4 famous temples of Kasaragod district. It is located near to Kasaragod City and very close to place called Uliyathadka. Lord Shiva(Madanantheshwara) is mainly worshipped here. Besides lord shiva, Lord Ganesha (Siddhi Vinayaka) also blesses us with his holy presence. A river called "Madhu vaahini", near by temple enhances the holiness of the temple. And the surroundings with nature is very beautiful and peaceful with somany holy trees like Ashwattha (peepul tree). There is a lake near by which has water in abundance. "Appam" is a dish especially oblated to lord Ganesha of this temple. So Appam is a special prasadam here. The temple has a great history, which enhances the devotion of devotees. The story is- some kids were playing with a clay made Ganesha, which was later covered with a termitarium. So, the Parashuram rishi gave the shape of Ganesha, started to worship as lord Ganesha. Another story was, when a woman was collecting grass (for her cows), her axe was hurted a stone, which resulted in bleeding from the stone. Later it was decided by astrologers that there is a holy presence of Lord Ganesha. So people started worshipping lord and built temple at that holy place. These are some of the stories behind the temple.
