Today we’re back on Buffalo Bayou in downtown Houston, Texas, chasing blue catfish and channel catfish with my good friend Larry! Larry may be experiencing homelessness, but he has a wealth of fishing knowledge and knows these waters better than most. It was an honor spending the day on the bank, sharing stories, and catching fish together. For this trip, I was using my King Kat fishing rod, targeting catfish with a homemade bait recipe consisting of raw chicken and chicken gizzards marinated in strawberry Jell-O and garlic powder. This bait turned out to be a great combination and helped us hook into some beautiful Houston catfish!
