Lovely woodland and estuary walk in the grounds of Saltram where Sense and Sensibility was filmed.
Walking along this great riverside walk following along the estuary then back into the woods. This is a 3.5km route and is classed as easy. I hired a tramper from reception near to the disabled parking. There are at least 10 disabled bays. Please be mindful that sometimes coaches are parked in there to so be careful when reversing ect. There are disabled toilets and a cafe with indoor/outside seating. If you follow the pathway to the left it takes you down to meet up with the riverside walk. There is a fairly long incline on this route but the tramper managed great. If you have your own mobility scooter you might find it better going out the car park to the right and following round so you go downwards on the slope. This is all a choice. Beautiful estuary views. Its a bit difficult to tell how far you are on your journey, but we have flagged this up with the NT people as this can be more helpful to navigate I feel. Lovely wide paths and lots of people using it. You can now take dogs into the Saltram house grounds and there is another cafe in the converted chapel. They do not let dogs in there. Lovely to have a few choices of routes and the staff at reception were very friendly and informative. Just a lovely place to visit and just off the A38 approaching Plymouth Post code PL7 1UH #accessibility #nationaltrust #adventure #devon
