Tears For Fears - Mad World (Mike Howlett '82)

Recently released version of Mad World from the sessions produced by Mike Howlett. From those sessions, so far, we have Pale Shelter which was released as a single in 1982 and flopped until it was re-recorded for the album The Hurting produced by Chris Hughes and released as a single again in 1983 becoming a TopTen hit in the UK. There is also an extended version made for the 12" single. Next from the Howlett sessions was Watch Me Bleed only recently appearing as a bonus track on the Blu Ray release of the Hurting and now, also part of the bonus tracks of the same release, this "new" version of Mad World. Curt Smith had this to say about those recording sessions: "Mike was far too commercial for us. I don't think we felt we were learning anything and we're not good at being pushed in a direction we don't wish to go."
