Mt 13:24-43 Jesus told the crowds this parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while they were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went away. And when the grain had sprouted and produced heads, then the weeds also appeared. The owner's servants came and said to him, 'Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? Then where did these weeds come from?' He said to them, 'An enemy did this.' The servants said to him, 'Do you want us to go and gather them?' But he said to them, "No, lest while you gather the weeds you also uproot the wheat. Let them both grow until the harvest. And at harvest time I will say to the reapers, 'First gather the weeds and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.'" He put another parable before them: "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field. It is the smallest of all the seeds, but when it has grown, it is larger than all the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches." He told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed in with three measures of flour until it was leavened." Jesus spoke all these things to the crowds in parables; without a parable he told them nothing. This was to fulfill what the prophet had said: "I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden from the foundation of the world." Then he dismissed the crowds and returned home. There his disciples came to him and said, "Explain to us the parable of the weeds." He answered, "The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world; the good seed are the sons of the kingdom, but the weeds are the sons of the evil one. The enemy who sowed the weeds is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world, and the reapers are the angels. Just as the weeds are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the world. The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all stumbling blocks, those who commit lawlessness, and throw them into the furnace of fire. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has an ear, let him hear.
