Weekend Wankshop 7 with Ben Eller: Mastodon Megalodon Megalick Lesson

----Twitter/Instagram @BenEllerGuitars ------ Greetings again, Suckamaniacs! It's your ol pal Uncle Ben, back with more Weekend Wankshop goodness for you all. This week we are going to be stomping across one of the coolest licks in the Mastodon catalogue, the bizarre trademark evil country lick in the song Megalodon!!! Brent Hinds has one of the most strange styles of anyone i've ever heard... you've gotta learn some Mastodon songs. I've gotten a lot of requests for this one, mainly because the really odd note choices and hybrid picking are confusing as all hell. But Uncle Ben delivers for YOU, loyal fan!!! This lick isn't really based on any sort of scale, but towards the end leans towards an E Major (well, really D Major since they're tuned down a step) tonality.
